Build Fort Wayne Powered by SEED.

This business planning class is designed for early-stage entrepreneurs who are ready to start or restart their businesses.

Classes are led by trained facilitators and cover the basics of starting a business—from establishing an entity to financial literacy, market research to cash flow, loan types to cost-benefit analyses, and more. Subject matter experts (such as lawyers, accountants, bankers, and marketing professionals) will attend several classes to help with questions and specific topics.

Education, resources, and community building are included in the $175 participant investment fee. Participants will receive this money back provided they have completed the program and after graduation requirements including the Next Step Plan coaching support.

Interested participants may fill out a Registration Application for the Cohort that best suits their schedule. Applicants are encourage to submit their registration form two weeks prior to the start of class.

Please answer the following questions. This information will allow us to provide you with the necessary support to make your business idea a reality and help you take your business to the next stage. 

Build Entrepreneur Education Commitment: Participants will receive a SEED Build Institute binder complete with course materials. Program graduates are required to participate in all follow-up surveys. These surveys provide us with reporting statistics to the Indiana Economic Development Corporation, which assists in funding this program. These surveys also allow SEED to provide valuable information and additional resources to the entrepreneurial community.

 Successful completion of the Build Entrepreneur Education Program includes:

  1. Completion of the pre-, mid, & post-class and any additional follow-up surveys.
  2. Attending a minimum of 7 classes as this course is a total of 27 education hours. 
  3. Completion of the Business pitch presentation at graduation and submission of your business plan for evaluation on next steps.

Commitment from all parties involved: The success of Build Entrepreneur participants relies heavily on community building, inclusion, and connection building. As such, interactions with Build/SEED facilitators, participants, guest speakers, and staff will be conducted with respect, understanding, and appreciation. These interactions ensure that everyone involved has the maximum opportunity to build a strong community and ensure that everyone has the opportunity to participate and that lasting connections are made for future success. For the safety of all parties, interactions between the class, facilitators, staff and Build alumni must take place virtually or in a public setting.
